Boo!

Did I scare ya? Happy Fall and Happy Halloween!

Sorry I’ve been MIA on my blog entries. It was a whirlwind of a summer (more details to come soon) and it’s hard to believe we are at the end of October already?!? The holidays are just around the corner. Yikes!

In this blog, I’m going to touch on some Fall into Winter skin tips and simple “tweaks” you can make to your skin care regimen and protocol to accommodate those adjustments and keep your skin healthy, happy, and beautiful.

Many of you, myself included, may start to notice a sense of dryness in your skin; perhaps even an increase in little bumps, breakouts and aggravating acne blemishes. Well I’m here to tell you that Fall time can cause an increase in acne, that “dry acne”, due to those sebaceous glands (oil glands) having been quite active over the warm and humid summer months and now with the cooler temps setting in, there is a dryness to the air quality. With this comes an increase in dead skin cell build up which narrows that pore opening and creates a “back-up of dirt, oil, and bacteria leading to pesky breakouts.

Skin may also be in need of more hydration. Because of the dryness in the air, those gel and deeper cleaning cleansers may need to be altered and replaced with a less stripping option like: Epionce Gentle Foaming Cleanser, or Milky Lotion Cleanser, Rhonda Allison’s Milk Plus or Creamy Milk Cleanser, or Suki Moisture Rich Cleansing Lotion. All of these wonderful choices should then be followed by an alcohol free toner such as: Epionce Balancing Toner, Rhonda Allison Purifying Lotion, or Suki Concentrated Clarifying Toner or Strengthening Toner.

Next, Exfoliate! Get rid of that dead skin cell build up and “open the door” for that dirt, oil, and debris to smoothly excrete through the pores and... bye bye blemishes! :) A few of my favorite exfoliants that should be part of your weekly skin routine are: Epionce Lytic Tx (one that is appropriate for your skin type); Rhonda Allison Mandelic Arginine Serum, Skin Refine Gel, Chronopeptide or Synergy A Serums; Osmosis Vitamin A Serums (Calm, Correct, Renew); Suki Exfoliating Foaming Cleanser (this is the bomb! It’s a topical sugar scrub safe for even the most sensitive skin and it smells amazingly fresh of lemongrass.) Suki Resurfacing Enzyme Peel (used weekly as a mini home peel).

Finally, I suggest you switch up to a moisturizer to one that is more emollient. Try one of the following; Epionce Renewal Facial Lotion or Cream, Rhonda Allison’s Drops of Essence, Elite EGF, Add to existing Moisturizer: Rhonda Allison’s Growth Factor Serum or Serum Plus, Pumpkin Serum, Sea Gems, Osmosis’s Quench Plus or Immerse, Suki Nourishing Oil, Add oil to Moisturizer and mix ie; Suki Balancing Oil with Suki Balancing Day Lotion.

Just because the temps are getting cooler, the sun is still there! Wear a sunscreen DAILY- 365 Days a Year! I also suggest you wear a mineral powder and/or mineral foundation everyday. These options further protect the skin and should be an extension of your daytime skin routine. I suggest one of the following: Osmosis CC Cream (the bomb!), Osmosis Pressed Powder, Rhonda Allison Illumicolour Cream ( available in dewy and matte finishes).

Some additional tips, keep your facial schedule regular. You may want to consider upgrading and/or supplementing your facials with mini peels and/or dermaplaning.. It wouldn't hurt to schedule a Peel series.

All of that can seem "haunting" (lol). Lucky for all of you, I’m here to guide you through the maze,
